Guns

I prioritize basic health and safety, and then personal freedoms. This means that personal freedoms should only be limited when they impact the health and safety of the self or others.

Unregulated guns present a threat to the health and safety of our community members. Therefore, guns must be restricted in evidence-based, sound ways.

At a state level, this means regulations regarding the licensing, sale, carrying, and storage of weapons and ammunition.

To be upfront and clear, I have fired a rifle and a handgun. I’m not afraid of guns. And I know that these are not decisions to be made based on fears and anger. They are decisions to be made based on evidence and study, and the evidence proves that common sense gun regulations are needed.
