“Levin said that something people don’t always realize about this issue is that public schools also serve the community.

‘When we look at funding public schools, it feels great and it's certainly something that we want to bolster the idea that every kid should go to a great school, because it's good for that kid, but it's also good for all of us,’ she said. ‘When we take funds out of the public school system, that hurts most students with the idea of maybe benefiting a couple. So it's not just hurting those kids, it's also hurting their communities.’”
