Arts in Iowa

People find inspiration and community in all kinds of places in Iowa. One of those places is the arts. Whether they engage with performing arts, graphic arts, literary arts, or any other art forms, creativity and collaboration are foundational pieces of the development of our state, and of the sense of place we strive to create.

It is not easy to be an artist in Iowa, whether professional or amateur, but there are a lot of things this state does well. I hope to be a voice for the artists of Iowa in prioritizing reflection, empathy, and imagination as we build the future of this land, and protecting those who design and form the things we love to see, hear, and feel.
